About Us

Our Council Story

A few words about us

The Fr. Horace B. McKenna, S. J. Council #11024 is a parish-based Knights of Columbus Council supporting the Mother Seton Parish Community in Germantown, Maryland.

We meet on the first and third Thursday of every month at 8:00 PM. Meetings are held in Msgr. Thomas M. Wells Parish Center, next to the Church. All Knights are invited to join us for our meeting and social gathering when travel finds them in the Germantown area.

Our Principles

All the work we do is guided by the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.

None of us is as good as all of us. All our members know that together we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually.

While our Order’s top-rated insurance protects our members and family, it is our Knights, who gave more than 75.6 million service hours in 2017, that show how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.

We are proud of our devotion to God and country, and believe in standing up for both. Whether it’s in public or private, the Knights remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are among the greatest citizens.

Membership

Who can join the Knights of Columbus?

Membership is open to practical Catholic men, 18 years of age. A practical Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church.
